Stop me if this sounds familiar:
Dashing around the grocery store the morning of Rosh Hashanah, only to discover all the organic honey is sold out.
The moment you realize that there will be no homemade challah for Shabbat.
Cobbling together a centerpiece of wilting grocery store flowers and a few herbs you pulled out of the crisper.
I’ve been there too, friend.
In a perfect world, the holidays are a time to reflect, a time we set aside to connect with our friends and family and remember our history.
Instead, many of us spend the holidays stressed out and anxious, trying to accommodate the niece’s food allergy and the mother-in-law’s new diet … while attempting to include meaningful ingredients and delicious dishes.
If you’d like easier holidays filled with healthier food, stress-free prep, and more fond memories, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Jewish Food Hero. We’re here to simplify and inspire your holiday experience.
This is a place where you can:
Let go of the all-or-nothing mentality
We talk a lot about plant-based food here. But! As you’ll see, plant-based eating doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing approach. You can go at your own pace and follow what feels right. Want to add some leftover shabbos chicken to that salad? Go right ahead!
Make delicious food using the kitchen you have
We will never share recipes that require one-use tools that cost $90. You won’t need any complicated, unpronounceable kitchen slicers and dicers. To make these holiday recipes, you’ll just need a blender and occasionally a food processor. Besides that you’ll need your regular pots and pans and typical cooking utensils.
Save (tons of!) time
Before Jewish Food Hero, I stressed over recipe websites and piles of cookbooks, trying to assemble the perfect menu for any given Jewish holiday. I’d spend hours searching for recipes and then (just for good measure) I’d spend another hour worrying that people liked the food.
At Jewish Food Hero, we save you time by:
- eliminating the search and worry phase.
- creating done-for-you menus that are easy to prepare.
- using ingredients you can find at your grocery store.
Plus, the recipes contain zero hard-to-find superfoods or rare, expensive ingredients, so you’ll never waste time or money scouring specialty stores for ingredients you won’t use again.
At the risk of tooting my own horn, these recipes are inspired, organized, and joyful.
With all of these dishes and recipes, it’s my wish that you feel creative and inspired in the days leading up to the holiday. I want you to be organized and prepared to make whichever dishes you decide to serve. The entire process is easy, so you can enjoy the holiday and the memories you’re creating.
